TD Garden sits on top of North Station, so the arena is easy to reach from almost anywhere in Boston by T. What deserves thought on a game or concert night is the trip back: most of a sellout crowd heads out within the same half hour, North Station platforms fill and the garage under the arena empties slowly. From a hotel within a short walk, you avoid the platforms and the garage queue.
We chose thirteen hotels for their distance to the arena and for the range of stays they cover, from compact rooms for a night out to suites with kitchens, and measured the walk from each to the arena's Causeway Street entrance, by North Station, on the street network. Five are five minutes or less away, six more within a quarter of an hour, and two about 16 minutes away, in the West End, the North End, around Faneuil Hall, on Beacon Hill and across the bridge in Charlestown. Parking, fees, pets, pools and family rooms come from the hotels' official pages where they publish them, and from travel sites where they do not, as noted.
Tap the map to open it full size. Pins are colored by walking time: gold for five minutes or less, blue for 6 to 12 minutes, terracotta for 13 to 16. They show locations, not walking routes.

Event night at TD Garden
- Doors: for Celtics and Bruins games, doors typically open one hour before the game, two hours for members; for concerts, usually one hour before. Each event's page has the final times.
- Bags: the arena strongly discourages bags. Small bags up to 6 by 4 by 1.5 inches are allowed, plus diaper bags up to 14 by 14 by 6, medical bags and breast-pump bags, all subject to screening. Larger bags can be left at the Event Bag Check on Level 1 of North Station for $15, usually from two hours before to one hour after the event.
- Parking: the North Station Garage under the arena charges event rates of $70 for Celtics and Bruins games and $65 for other events when you enter within the window before the event; check the garage's rules for your date (6 ft 8 in clearance). Hotel valet nearby is $60 to $75 a night: leaving the car with the hotel avoids the post-event garage queue, at the cost of waiting for valet the next day.
- The T: North Station, below the arena, serves the Orange and Green Lines and commuter rail to the north and west. Expect crowded platforms right after the final whistle; hotels within ten minutes let you skip them.
The 2026-27 season at the Garden
- Celtics: the home opener is Friday, October 23, 2026, against the New York Knicks, and the regular season ends at home on April 11, 2027, against the Milwaukee Bucks. Home dates include a Christmas Day game against the Miami Heat.
- Bruins: Montreal visits on November 12 and March 30, Toronto on November 27, a 1 pm Black Friday game, and January 30.
- Concerts and shows fill the nights in between; check TD Garden's events calendar before booking, as dates are added and occasionally canceled.
Before you book
- Check the event calendar: expect higher demand, and often higher rates, on game and concert nights.
- Count the beds: citizenM rooms suit two adults; for families, look at the Residence Inn suites, the Canopy's connecting rooms or the Wyndham's two-double rooms.
- Compare parking: $65 to $70 at the arena garage on event nights against $60 to $75 for hotel valet, or $45 to $50 self-parking at the Canopy and The Bostonian.
- Add mandatory fees and taxes (Omni Parker House, The Bostonian, Pennyweight, Canopy). Our guide to Boston hotel taxes and fees explains what is added to the rate.
How we built this guide
- Walking times: computed on OpenStreetMap's street and footpath network at 80 meters a minute, from each hotel's mapped location to the arena's Causeway Street entrance by North Station. They exclude waits at crossings and crowds, which slow every route after an event.
- Sources: TD Garden's official guide, the hotels' or brands' official pages, read in October 2026, and published team schedules. Details for the Wyndham, The Bostonian and Club Quarters come from travel sites, as stated.
- Independence: no hotel paid to be included, and we have no affiliation with TD Garden or its teams.
